Summer Days

Sleepy Boy

Mixing concrete for the entrance pipes

John at 4 months

These girls crashed hard after a fun Memorial Day.

It seems like summer already! We have enjoyed the hot days and the cooler spring like days.

This month we celebrated Mother's Day with both families, our good friends Zach and Tricia stayed for a weekend, we have celebrated Katie and Evelyn's birthdays...Matthew's is today, and we have done lots of other things in between!

It is hard to believe we have a 6 year old in the house. On the morning of Katie's birthday her sisters sized her up and decided she wasn't really any bigger than she was the day before! They thought that she would immediately grow and inch or two overnight I think.

We have spent some time with Daddy and Grandpa at their current project. They have created a very nice pipe entrance to the homeplace. While visiting with them we discovered how much fun it is to go on little hikes. The girls pretend to be mountain goats hopping around on the rocks. Matthew and the girls also built a very impressive triangular hut out of mesh fence panel. They had six inch pipes for seats, a cover for the rain and a little stove with rocks in it.

John is rolling over both ways, grabbing his feet and warbling. He grins constantly and is such a sweetie. Josephine talks a lot when she gets the chance. We don't know exactly what she is saying sometimes, but we can usually figure it out.
We were all excited this morning because there was a hummingbird at our feeder...we love to observe all the critters around our house. We have seen several cottontails, a big tabby cat, a coyote, a lizard, 2 bull snakes, a fuzzy caterpillar and cardinals within a week's time.

Life is fun, interesting, challenging, adventurous and always a little noisy!

Katie playing Bocce Ball. She tossed the ball into the air and it came down on top of her head. Needless to say it was quite noisy after that. She learned a little about gravity, and dense objects! After she recovered she asked that we not play that game again for a while!
